Late summer is the perfect time to go hunting for the best wild foods of all - mushrooms! Join me in searching through mixed woodland for the most exciting of nature's treasures, learning how to identify fungi and the environment they grow in. We will even squeeze in a bit of a look at the other wild edibles hiding in and around that can be made use of, as well as the benefits of doing so. Throughout the afternoon gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. To finish the day we will picnic, tasting a variety of foraged dishes - and a treat or two for the over 18s!
The walk should last ~2.5 hours with the opportunity to stay a little later to enjoy some of the foods we have collected. Exact location of the walk will be confirmed via email before the event. This is suitable for all ages with children welcome. Please note that this will take place in a woodland so it is advisable to wear appropriate clothing/footwear.
