Group sizes of no more than six guests
To help reduce the spread of Covid-19 the maximum number of guests per walk will be 6 initially during august. In addition to this the total number of households will also be limited to 5, in line with current government advice.
Numbers will update as more information becomes available and will depend on recommended social distancing.
Social distancing will be observed
Walk routes are chosen to allow for social distancing. When stopping to discuss plants or fungi we will do so where there is plenty of space. The meeting location will also be chosen with plenty of room in mind.
Hand washing and hand sanitiser
At this time there is limited access to hand washing facilities at country parks, and not all locations used have hand washing or toilet facilities.
Hand sanitiser will be available on the day, and it is also recommended that you carry your own if possible.
If toilet facilities are open/available this will be made clear upon booking.
No wild picnics/tasters
Unfortunately I won't be offering tasters/picnics on the 2020 walks. This is because the risk of passing, sharing and preparing food is one that is very easy to remove, and I believe it is better to err on the side of caution here. You are very welcome to bring along your own snacks, and I am happy to share recipes of things to make at home
No passing of plant material
Usually on walks we would pass round leaves or fungi to make it easier to examine up close. So that we can properly socially distance and minimise any risk we will instead either take a leaf each, if it is abundant, or take turns looking at ID points, but not touching.
All workshops will be outdoors
In past years I have sometimes ran workshops that began or ended indoors. All courses this year will be outdoors, as any covid transmission risk is considerably smaller.
To help support the continued health and well-being of all guests you will be asked to complete a short health declaration on booking to confirm no covid symptoms. A follow-up email will be sent seven days after the event, just to make sure everyone is feeling well.
For track and trace purposes your name and contact details will be kept for 28 days. During this time you will not receive any marketing emails.
Re-booking and Re-scheduling
If you have booked an event and then develop covid-19 symptoms, or are awaiting test results, please contact asap and you will be able to re-book or receive a digital voucher to be used on any walk within the next 24 months.
Should the course need to be rescheduled due to any reason, such as a local lock-down, you will be able to re-book, receive a digital voucher as above, or receive a full refund.
